Role Context & Scope
The client recently completed a Box-to-SharePoint migration,
but much of that content now needs a more thoughtful redesign, understanding how each business group actually handles documents and workflows, then re-mapping that to a proper SharePoint architecture. The strategic driver is the same as the Engineer role: getting content clean and well-governed enough to safely open it up to Gemini (AI).
The BA's role is business-facing rather than technical: engineering will supply system reports identifying likely site owners (and flag the 500+ sites with no identified owner at all, out of roughly 10,000 base sites plus a multiplier from Teams-linked private/shared channels). The BA then goes to the actual business groups to verify ownership, learn real workflows, and identify sensitivities (external sharing, confidential or restricted information), including a light training/explanation component, since these conversations often require first explaining how SharePoint works.
