Metaphor Interiors is Organo’s sister firm - an interior design and build studio, delivering thoughtful, ecology-rooted interiors for Organo community homes. The studio operates across the full project lifecycle: from concept and research, through material selection and design development, to site execution and post-handover. We are a small, high-conviction team with an Indian Contemporary design sensibility — warm, grounded, purposeful.
Role Summary
We are looking for a designer with a great eye and an even greater sense of curiosity. This role is for someone who finds design problems genuinely engaging — who goes deep on research, brings considered aesthetic instincts to every space, and can follow a project from a sketchpad sketch all the way through to the final weld on site.
You will work across multiple projects simultaneously, contribute to design development and documentation, manage vendor and contractor coordination on site, and use digital tools — including AI — to sharpen your output and accelerate your process. This is not a purely desk role; we expect you to be as comfortable on a construction floor as you are in a client presentation.
Key Responsibilities
Design Development
Translate briefs and site conditions into spatial concepts — mood boards, material palettes, and layouts that reflect Indian Contemporary sensibility.
Produce working drawings, furniture layouts, and detail drawings in SketchUp (with LayOut or equivalent for documentation).
Develop and iterate design solutions through all stages — from early concept sketches to construction-ready drawings.
Maintain design quality and coherence across projects; exercise genuine aesthetic judgment, not just technical compliance.
