Job Description : Project Manager - HVAC (Global Navy systems)
Position Summary
The Project Manager - HVAC is responsible for leading and executing HVAC projects across all Naval platforms and namely New Generation Missile Vessels to be constructed at Cochin Shipyard Ltd, Kochi. The role involves managing the complete project lifecycle from detailed design, Initiating Procurement, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with naval, marine classification society, and customer requirements.
The incumbent will coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, customers, shipyards, suppliers, and global stakeholders to deliver innovative, reliable, and energy-efficient HVAC solutions for mission-critical marine environments.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
Lead end-to-end HVAC project execution for Naval projects.
Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and resource allocation plans.
Monitor project performance against cost, schedule, quality, and scope objectives.
Ensure timely delivery of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation,



and commissioning activities.
Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, shipyards, naval authorities, and internal stakeholders.
Conduct project reviews, progress meetings, and technical discussions with clients.
Build and maintain solid customer relationships to support business growth and repeat opportunities.
Engineering Coordination
Coordinate HVAC design activities including:
Heat load calculations
Cooling and ventilation systems
Chilled water systems
Air handling units
Refrigeration systems
NBC (Nuclear, Biological & Chemical) filtration systems
BOM
Ensure designs comply with Naval standards and customer specifications.
Support technical reviews, design approvals, and change management processes.
Procurement & Vendor Management
Manage supplier selection and technical evaluation
