Job Description: A CNC Machine Operator in a foundry plant sets up, operates, and monitors CNC machines (milling, turning, drilling) to finish cast metal parts according to technical drawings. They are responsible for loading castings, inspecting finished parts with precision tools, ensuring dimensional accuracy, and conducting basic machine maintenance while adhering to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities

- Machine Operation: Set up and run CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, and milling on castings.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to understand specifications and part requirements.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished castings using tools like verniers, micrometers, and height gauges to ensure tolerances are met.
- Tooling & Setup: Load and adjust tools, fixtures, and workpieces accurately.
- Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor machinery during operation to ensure efficiency, report errors, and perform daily cleaning and minor maintenance.
- Documentation: Maintain production logs and report on defective materials.
- Safety Adherence: Follow all safety procedures,



including wearing required PPE, to maintain a secure work environment.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Fitter, Turner, or Machinist trade.
- Experience: 1–5 years of experience in CNC machining (foundry or heavy engineering experience is preferred).
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, etc.), G-code/M-code, and tool management.
- Physical Strength: Ability to use hoists to lift and move heavy cast parts.

Commonly Used Tools

- CNC Mills (VMC) and Lathes.
- Measuring instruments: Micrometer, Vernier caliper, Height gauge.
- Hoists and cranes for heavy lifting.

Common Follow-Up Tasks

- DEBURRING AND FINISHING cast parts.
- Cleaning, packaging, and moving completed parts.
- Performing tool life management and replacements
