Job Description
Experian Business Information is looking for an experienced and hands-on Mainframe Lead Developer to lead the development of critical mainframe applications. You help code while guiding the team through solution development best practices, and production support. You will have experience in COBOL development, batch and online systems, scheduling, release management, and end-to-end software delivery in a mission-critical mainframe setting.
Responsibilities:
Lead the enhancement of mainframe applications supporting Experian Business Information.
Perform hands-on development using COBOL and related mainframe technologies while mentoring team members.




Analyze our requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
Improve:
Batch processing applications
Online (CICS) applications
DB2 database programs
JCL and utility jobs
Design and troubleshoot complex batch workflows, ensuring reliability.
Coordinate production releases, deployments, and post-release validation.
Manage job scheduling processes using enterprise scheduling tools such as Control-M, CA-7, or equivalent.
Lead code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and development best practices.
Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA teams, DevOps, infrastructure, and production support teams.
Investigate and resolve production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions.
Improvement projects related to application modernization, automation, and development processes.
