Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced AS400 / IBM i Developer with strong hands‑on expertise in COBOL, SYNON, and RPG. The resource will work on enterprise‑scale applications, supporting development, enhancements, and production support activities in a legacy environment, with exposure to modernization initiatives.

Scope of Work
Application development and maintenance on IBM i (AS400 / iSeries) platform
Enhancements, defect fixes, and production support for existing applications
Participation in requirement analysis, impact analysis, and solution implementation
Collaboration with onshore/offshore teams, business users, and support teams
Support batch jobs, online programs, and system integrations
Follow assigned delivery schedules, coding standards, and support SLAs

Mandatory Technical Skills (Must Have)
Vendors must propose candidates meeting the following criteria:
4–6 years of hands‑on AS400 / IBM i development experience
Strong practical experience in:
COBOL
SYNON
RPG / RPGLE
CL / CLLE
Valuable working knowledge of:
DB2/400
Physical and Logical Files
SQL on AS400




Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills
Experience supporting applications in a production environment

Preferred / Value‑Add Skills (Good to Have)
Java knowledge for integration or modernization efforts
Exposure to PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management) domain
Experience working in legacy modernization or transformation programs
Familiarity with:
Batch scheduling and job monitoring tools
Change management and deployment processes
AI tool usage as an end user (e.g., Copilot, AI‑assisted code or impact analysis tools)

Non‑Technical Skills
Good communication and coordination skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Willingness to work in support rotations or critical production windows
Strong ownership and accountability mindset
