Position: Environmental Scientist

Number of Positions: One

Duration: One year and extendable subject to individual’s performance

Eligibility Required: PhD in Environmental Science or a related field.

Desirable Qualifications

- Proven expertise in conducting both desk-based and field environmental research.

- Experience in laboratory testing and analysis of air, water, and soil samples.

- Competency in data collection, analysis, and interpretation for identifying trends and environmental concerns.

- Ability to develop and apply conceptual models assessing impacts of contaminants and human activities.

- Proficiency in environmental modelling software and GIS tools.





- Strong communication skills to prepare scientific reports, presentations, and disseminate research findings effectively.

- Familiarity with environmental legislation and compliance requirements.

- Experience in managing research projects, budgets, and liaising with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of senior research personnel, the Environmental Scientist will:

- Plan and execute environmental research projects.

- Conduct laboratory tests on environmental samples (water, air, soil).

- Collect, analyse, and interpret environmental data to identify trends and concerns.

- Build and apply conceptual models to evaluate environmental impacts.

- Prepare detailed scientific reports and presentations.

- Communicate research outcomes clearly to senior scientists, stakeholders, and policy-makers.

- Develop strategic plans to mitigate environmental issues.

- Stay updated with current environmental legislation, practices, and technologies.

- Manage research projects within budget and time constraints.

Remuneration

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, up to Rs 65,000 per month for suitable candidates.
