Position Summary
AlMeer Saudi Technical Services Co. is seeking a qualified and safety-oriented Ultrasound Technician / Ultrasound Analyst (ISO 18436 Level-I Certified) to support Saudi Aramco's Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Asset Reliability Programs at Gas Plants in the Northern Area.
The successful candidate shall be responsible for performing airborne and structure-borne ultrasonic inspections of mechanical, electrical, and process equipment to detect early-stage defects, compressed air and gas leaks, steam trap failures, valve leakage, bearing lubrication requirements, electrical discharge phenomena, and other equipment anomalies. The Technician shall utilize portable ultrasonic inspection instruments to collect, trend, analyze, and report inspection data in accordance with Saudi Aramco standards, international best practices, and AlMeer's quality and safety requirements.
The Ultrasound Technician shall work closely with Reliability Engineers, Vibration Analysts, Electrical Maintenance Teams, Mechanical Maintenance Teams, and Operations personnel to improve equipment reliability, optimize maintenance planning, and prevent unexpected equipment failures.

Ultrasonic Condition Monitoring
Perform ultrasonic inspections on plant equipment including:

Leak Detection
Conduct ultrasonic leak detection for:
- Compressed air leaks
- Nitrogen leaks

- Valve passing and seat leakage
- Safety relief valve leakage
- Heat exchanger tube leakage
- Pipeline leakage
Locate, quantify, classify, and document identified leaks,
and recommend corrective actions to minimize energy loss and improve operational efficiency.
Bearing Condition Monitoring
Perform ultrasonic inspections of rolling element bearings to:
- Detect early bearing defects
- Assess lubrication condition
- Identify over-lubrication and under-lubrication
- Recommend lubrication intervals based on condition
- Detect bearing wear, contamination, and mechanical distress
- Support predictive maintenance programs by identifying incipient failures
Electrical Inspection
Perform non-intrusive ultrasonic inspections to identify electrical defects, including:
- Corona discharge
- Arcing
- Tracking
- Partial discharge
- Loose electrical connections
- Insulation deterioration
Support electrical maintenance personnel by reporting abnormalities requiring corrective action.
Steam Trap Inspection
Conduct ultrasonic testing of steam systems to:
- Assess steam trap performance
- Identify failed-open and failed-closed steam traps
- Detect steam leakage
- Evaluate condensate flow characteristics
- Recommend replacement or repair of defective traps
Valve Inspection
Perform ultrasonic testing of valves to:
- Detect internal leakage
- Evaluate valve seat integrity
- Verify valve performance
- Identify passing isolation valves
- Support maintenance planning
Data Collection and Analysis
- Collect ultrasonic inspection data using approved inspection routes.
- Review signal characteristics and inspection trends.
- Compare current data with historical records.
- Identify developing equipment defects.
- Prioritize maintenance recommendations based on equipment condition.
- Maintain accurate inspection databases and historical records.
Equipment Operation The Technician shall be proficient in operating ultrasonic inspection instruments from leading manufacturers, including but not limited to:
- UE Systems
- SDT Ultrasound Solutions
- SKF Ultrasonic Instruments
- Fluke Ultrasonic Test Equipment
- Sonotec
- Other equivalent ultrasonic inspection systems
Experience with UE Systems Ultraprobe and SDT Ultrasound Solutions equipment will be highly preferred.

- Identifying opportunities for energy conservation through leak reduction
- Improving equipment availability through early fault detection
Minimum Qualification
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Instrumentation, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Additional training in Predictive Maintenance or Reliability Engineering will be considered an advantage.
Mandatory Certification The candidate must possess:
- ISO 18436 Level-I Ultrasound Certification (or an equivalent internationally recognized Level-I certification in Ultrasonic Condition Monitoring)
Certification shall be valid and issued by an internationally recognized certification body.
Experience Requirements The candidate shall possess:
- Minimum Five (5) years of experience in Ultrasonic Condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance.
- Minimum Five (5) years of experience working in Oil & Gas Processing Plants, Refineries, Petrochemical Plants, LNG Facilities, or Power Generation Plants.
- Experience in route-based ultrasonic inspections.
- Experience in compressed air and gas leak surveys.
- Experience in steam trap inspection programs.
- Experience in bearing condition monitoring using ultrasound.
- Previous Saudi Aramco experience will be highly preferred.
