The Customer Quality Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring product and process quality across manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on in-process and inbound quality control. This position is critical in maintaining high standards of product reliability and customer satisfaction by proactively identifying, analyzing, and resolving quality issues. The engineer will act as a key liaison between production, engineering, and customer-facing teams, driving continuous improvement through data-driven insights, root cause analysis, and effective cross-functional collaboration. With hands-on involvement in injection molding processes and quality documentation, the role supports both operational excellence and recent product development initiatives, ensuring compliance with QA standards and timely resolution of escalated issues.
Responsibilities
Conduct in-process and inward quality inspections to ensure product and process compliance.
Ensure consistent quality assurance across all operational activities.
Analyze production line issues using QC tools and implement effective corrective actions.
Monitor and reduce rework and rejection rates (PPM), driving continuous quality improvements.
Document non-conformances and ensure timely execution of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for both in-house and supplier-rejected components.
Address customer quality concerns and track resolution of action plans.
Implement and enforce QA standards and quality procedures on the shop floor.
Support New Product Development (NPD) activities, including design validation and tooling assessments for DIY projects.
Prepare and maintain key quality documents such as FMEA, Control Plan, and Process Flow Diagram (PFD).
Ensure accurate and up-to-date shop floor documentation for injection molding processes.
Track and verify daily escalated product-related cases and coordinate resolution with internal teams.
