Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Cosmos DB Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and support enterprise-scale distributed databases. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring high availability, peak performance, robust security, and cost efficiency across mission-critical Cosmos DB deployments.
Manage and maintain enterprise Azure Cosmos DB environments.
Monitor overall health, performance, and availability of Cosmos DB accounts, containers, and workloads.
Perform capacity planning, Request Units (RU/s) management, and partition key optimization.
Maintain strict SLA adherence for availability, latency, and throughput.
Performance & Cost Optimization
Analyze query performance and optimize indexing policies, partitioning strategies, and data models.
Rightsize RU provisioning and implement autoscale strategies to minimize infrastructure costs.
Identify and remediate hot partitions and inefficient query execution patterns.
Implement caching strategies and optimize SDK usage where applicable.
Reliability, Backup & Disaster Recovery (DR)
Configure and manage multi-region replication and failover policies.
Validate backup and restore processes (both continuous and periodic backup modes).
Define, maintain, and execute DR runbooks aligned to RTO/RPO requirements.
Participate in periodic DR drills and system resilience validation exercises.
Security & Compliance
Implement and enforce Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Managed Identities, and network security controls (Private Endpoints, VNet integration, NSGs).
