Position Title: Systems Engineer

Reports Directly to: IT Manager

Position Overview:

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, support and management of the DATAMARK IT Infrastructure. These responsibilities include all technical aspects of design, configuration, Operations and documentation of the network and systems infrastructure. Must be well-versed in Server, Cloud, Networking, Security, Monitoring, Core Services, Application Performance, Data Storage, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provides technical leadership through analysis, design, implementation, and support of DATAMARK IT Environment. Configures, installs, maintains, tests, analyzes, evaluates, and upgrades computing setting and services
Develops and Maintains documentation and standards to direct the system activities
Selects the best possible solutions leveraging knowledge of wide range of available technologies
Monitors Systems and networks to ensure there are no productivity setbacks
Implements best practices for systems Cloud, security and backups.



Determines bottleneck in the current systems and suggest solutions to problems
Anticipates potential issues of bottlenecks and identifying possible solutions. Determine issues with business Internet connectivity, WAN technologies, remote access and VPN configuration
Troubleshooting and resolving all technical issues as they arise
Communicates effectively with IT Support staff to ensure operational process runs smoothly
Provides technical leadership and guidance to the team, must be willing to develop the technical skills of other team members whenever possible
Manages Windows Servers, virtualization, Cloud, active directory, routers, switches, firewalls, SAN/NAS, IP phones, smartphones, software deployments, security updates and patches

Liaising with vendors and keeping relevant stakeholders up to date with developments

Ensures the integrity of file servers, VPN gateways, EDR and intrusion detection/protection systems are reliable and
