About The Role We are hiring a Senior Technical Manager (Front-end Architect) to own the front-end architecture and engineering direction across our enterprise product lines. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role: you will set the architectural standards teams build on, lead modernization of large and long-lived applications, and embed AI-driven engineering practices that raise throughput without compromising quality.
The role suits an engineer-leader with deep front-end craft and the judgment to make trade-offs that hold up over years of maintenance.
You will partner with product, design, and platform leadership to translate business needs into technical roadmaps, and you will grow the engineering team through mentorship, review, and clear standards. The outgoing architect has established a strong foundation — modern React/Next.js standards, a reusable component library, and a pioneering agentic AI workflow — and we are looking for someone who can both steward and extend it.
Key Responsibilities Architecture & Technical Direction
- Own front-end architecture strategy across product lines — module boundaries, state management, build strategy, and microfrontend decomposition for 20+ enterprise modules.
- Define and govern React.js / Next.js / TypeScript coding standards and review practices; drive consistency and maintainability across teams.
- Lead modernization and migration of large, long-lived applications (e.g., Next.js migrations) with minimal disruption to users.
Engineering & Delivery
- Stay close to the code: make and defend the hard technical trade-offs, and lead by demonstrated craft, not process alone.
- Hold the line on performance — bundle size, build performance, code-splitting and lazy loading — and on 99.9% production stability through proactive quality gates.
- Own the design-to-deploy lifecycle and release management (versioning, deployment coordination) for front-end deliverables.
AI-Driven Engineering
- Steward and extend the agentic AI engineering practice — sub-agents, slash commands, and context-aware skills wired to Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence via MCP — to sustain and grow the ~30%+ throughput gains already achieved.
- Set guardrails so AI acceleration preserves code quality, security, and auditability.
Leadership & People
- Lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams; deliver constructive feedback, run appraisals, and track growth.
- Translate business and product needs into technical roadmaps and align stakeholders.
- Champion knowledge-sharing and transparent coding practices across the engineering organization.
Required Qualifications
- 13+ years of front-end / systems engineering, including substantial hands-on production experience and senior architecture/leadership roles.
- Deep expertise across React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), and Node.js, with proven enterprise-scale architecture (microfrontends, component libraries, state and build strategy).
- Demonstrated ownership of build/performance optimization (Webpack/Vite, code-splitting, lazy loading) and measurable outcomes (e.g., faster rollouts, reduced bundle size, improved consistency).
- Solid grounding in testing and quality (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress/Playwright) and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins).
- Proven technical leadership: setting standards, mentoring engineers, and aligning stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s in Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred / Nice To Have
- Hands-on fluency with AI / agentic engineering tooling (Claude Code, MCP, sub-agents, context engineering) applied to real delivery.
- Experience building and distributing reusable component libraries (TypeScript + Storybook) and customer-specific modules via private npm repositories.
- Track record modernizing legacy integrations to modern React stacks.
- Experience in enterprise B2B / large-scale product environments.
- A history of developer-enablement initiatives (workshops, internal training, mentoring programs).
