Position: Teacher Librarian (IB)

Role Summary The Teacher Librarian will be responsible for the effective management and development of the whole-school library, supporting learning across the EY to MYP. This is a full time role and focuses on promoting a strong reading culture, inquiry-based learning, research skills, and information literacy while ensuring the library provides an engaging, inclusive, and well-resourced environment for pupils and staff.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the whole-school library.
- Curate, organise, and maintain print and digital library resources.




- Collaborate with teachers to support inquiry-based learning and research.
- Promote reading, information literacy, and responsible use of library resources.
- Deliver library orientation and research skills sessions for pupils.
- Manage cataloguing, circulation, acquisitions, inventory, and library systems.
- Organise reading initiatives, book fairs, author visits, and other library events.
- Ensure the library operates in line with school policies, safeguarding, and IB standards.
- Participate in school events and meetings.

Essential Requirements

- Prior experience in an IB School is mandatory.
- Completion of an IB workshop is mandatory.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in library and information science (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of the IB philosophy, inquiry-based learning, and information literacy.
- Experience in managing a school library and library management systems.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and collaboration skills.
