About the Project
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has launched a dedicated Metropolitan Disease Surveillance Strengthening component under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), covering 20 cities across India. Supported by the World Bank through Transforming India’s Public Health Systems for Pandemic Preparedness Program (PHSPP), PATH has been selected as a key partner by the World Bank in setting up a Technical Support Unit (TSU) to provide expert guidance on this initiative. The TSU will offer technical backstopping and strategic direction during the initial two years of the program, leveraging global experience and best practices.



The primary objective is to facilitate the design and implementation of the metropolitan disease surveillance program, address operational challenges, and share insights and innovations as global public goods.
Position Overview
The Consultant – Senior Public Health Specialist will play a critical role within the TSU, guiding the strategic implementation, monitoring, and refinement of the metropolitan disease surveillance program. This individual will work closely with national health authorities and stakeholders to ensure the program's success and sustainability.
