Job Title: OpenBMC Services / API Engineer
Job Summary:
The OpenBMC Services / API Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all service-layer work related to OpenBMC above the hardware interface. This includes conducting AMI gap analysis, implementing Redfish/IPMI APIs, integrating KVM/SOL/virtual media, and managing user and certificate protocols. The role requires close collaboration with other engineering roles to ensure sensor integration and security hardening, making it the most significant role in terms of project hours.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop OpenBMC service architecture, including D-Bus interface design and phosphor service development.
Implement Redfish API, focusing on bmcweb handler development and ensuring schema compliance across various services.
Develop and test IPMI 2.0 protocol commands and integrate LBAA/OneCLI functionalities.
Configure KVM and remote console functionalities, including HTML5 KVM client integration and virtual media implementation.
Analyze AMI BMC features and design equivalent phosphor implementations for identified gaps.
Mandatory Skills:
Proficient in OpenBMC service architecture, including D-Bus interface design and phosphor service development (e.g., phosphor-ipmi-host, bmcweb).
Experience with Redfish API implementation, including handler development and schema compliance.
Knowledge of IPMI 2.0 protocol and command development.
Familiarity with KVM and remote console configurations, including Serial Over LAN and virtual media.
Ability to conduct AMI BMC feature analysis and design phosphor implementations.
Experience with BMC Tools.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with ASPEED AST2700 KVM/display pipeline.
Knowledge of LDAP/Active Directory integration for user management.
Familiarity with Redfish EventService and Subscription model implementation.
Experience with frontend frameworks like React JS for API wiring tasks.
Proficiency in API test automation using Automation - RPA.
