Role overview
Aivar Innovations is seeking a Data Analytics Architect with 6+ years of experience to design and scale modern analytics platforms that power AI and
decision‑making for global customers. This role owns end‑to‑end architecture from data ingestion to BI, self‑service analytics, and ML‑ready data products.
Key responsibilities
- Lead discovery with business and technical stakeholders to translate analytics and reporting needs into target data/analytics architectures and
roadmaps.
- Design and govern data platforms (lakes, warehouses, lake -house) supporting batch and streaming workloads for BI, advanced analytics, and ML.
- Define canonical data models, semantic layers, and data products that enable consistent KPIs and self‑service analytics across the organization.
- Oversee data integration and ETL/ELT pipelines from diverse source systems, ensuring data quality, lineage,
and reliable SLAs.
- Partner with data engineers, BI developers, and data scientists to deliver scalable analytic solutions and ML‑ready datasets.
- Implement and enforce data governance, security, and compliance standards in collaboration with security and platform teams.
- Provide architectural leadership and hands‑on guidance during design and delivery; review designs, queries, and dashboards for performance and best practices.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Strong expertise in data modeling and warehousing: dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions, and
lakehouse patterns.
- Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud data stack (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and services such as S3/Data Lake, Redshift/BigQuery/
Snowflake/Synapse.
- Advanced SQL skills, including query tuning, partitioning, indexing, and optimizing large‑scale analytical workloads.
- Experience building batch and streaming data pipelines using tools such as Spark/Databricks, Glue/Dataflow, Kafka/Kinesis, or similar
frameworks.
- Proficiency with ETL/ELT orchestration and transformation tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Step Functions, Data Factory) and implementing data quality
checks and lineage.
- Strong understanding of BI and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, QuickSight, or similar) and designing semantic models and
governed datasets for them.
- Working knowledge of integrating analytics platforms with ML/AI workflows (feature stores, model outputs, scoring pipelines, or
GenAI‑driven insights).
- Solid grasp of data governance and security: data cataloging, classification, access control, masking, encryption, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Nice‑to‑have skills
- Experience with data mesh or domain‑oriented data product architectures.
- Exposure to observability for data platforms (data SLAs, freshness, drift, and pipeline health monitoring).
- Familiarity with cost‑optimization techniques for cloud analytics (storage tiering, workload management, autoscaling).
