Kwik Fit Appoints Pete Marden to Strengthen SMR Growth.

Kwik Fit has appointed Pete Marden as its new business development director, reinforcing the company’s focus on servicing, maintenance and repair (SMR), especially for fleet customers.

Marden re-joins the business where he began his automotive career over two decades ago. Starting as an apprentice, he progressed through operations management roles before becoming head of core fleet and business development, a post he held until 2017. Most recently, he was director of B2B and fleet at Halfords.

SMR and fleet strategy at the core of new role

In his current position, Marden will drive growth in Kwik Fit’s SMR proposition. His responsibilities include shaping future SMR strategy, managing supplier relationships, overseeing capital expenditure, and expanding the service network. He will also manage the Kwik Fit Club, the company’s tyre and servicing subscription programme.





Marden reports directly to Dan Joyce, retail operations director, who highlighted the appointment as part of Kwik Fit’s broader commitment to strengthening its aftermarket position. Joyce stated that Marden’s return is set to bolster the business’s client relationships and support growth beyond the fleet sector.

"The evolving car parc presents major opportunities for independent providers," said Joyce. "We’re investing in infrastructure and skills to meet that demand."

Experience-led return to a transforming business

Reflecting on his return, Marden noted the significant transformation at Kwik Fit since his previous tenure, particularly in areas of technology, personnel, and mobile service delivery. He emphasised his ambition to evolve the SMR offer and further enhance customer partnerships.

"Kwik Fit has always led in tyre management," said Marden. "Now, the goal is to elevate our SMR service
