Hiroshi Hamada Appointed CEO of Falken Tyre Europe

Falken Tyre Europe GmbH has announced the appointment of Hiroshi Hamada as its new Managing Director, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer. Hamada brings over three decades of global tyre industry experience and is set to steer the company’s European operations through its next phase of growth.

Sumitomo Veteran Joins Falken’s European Leadership

Hamada began his career in 1992 at what was then The Ohtsu Tire & Rubber Company, now part of Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI). His most recent roles include Vice President of SRI China and President of Dunlop Tire in China. Since 2024, he has also served as a Senior Executive Officer at SRI, Falken’s parent company.

Falken has framed Hamada’s appointment as a move to enhance coordination and strategic alignment across its European business units.

Strategic Growth and Brand Development in Europe

In a statement,



Hamada said he is “honoured” to lead Falken Tyre Europe and emphasised the potential for continued growth by combining Sumitomo’s global scale with Falken’s established presence in Europe. He underlined the importance of partnership and innovation as core pillars of his leadership vision.

Markus Bögner, current Managing Director and President of Falken Tyre Europe, welcomed the appointment as a “strategic step forward” for the brand, citing Hamada’s leadership track record and commitment to growth.
