Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Design Engineer specializing in high-rise residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. In this role, you will lead the design, thermal load analysis, vertical riser distribution, and plant selection for high-rise structures. You will ensure optimal energy efficiency, pressure management, life safety smoke control, and seamless MEP coordination from concept design through construction administration.

Key Responsibilities

- High-Rise System Engineering: Lead the conceptual and detailed design of specialized high-rise HVAC systems, including chilled water plants, heat exchanger pressure-break systems, VRF networks, and dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS).
- High-Rise Life Safety & Smoke Control: Design and calculate stairwell pressurization systems, elevator hoistway pressurization, and mechanical smoke extraction systems adhering to high-rise safety codes.
- Thermal & Hydraulic Modeling: Perform heat load calculations using Carrier HAP or Trane TRACE. Execute hydrostatic pressure calculations, static pressure loss analysis, and pipe sizing for high-head chilled/hot water pumping systems.
- Vertical Riser & Spatial Coordination: Design layout of vertical mechanical shafts, piping/duct risers, expansion loops, and floor-by-floor distribution networks; coordinate closely with architectural and structural engineering teams to manage floor-to-floor heights.
- BIM & Technical Specifications: Oversee 3D BIM (Revit MEP) model generation and spatial clash resolution using Navisworks.



Prepare technical equipment data sheets, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and tender document packages.
- Standards & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with ASHRAE (62.1, 90.1, 55), NFPA (92 for smoke control, 90A), local building fire and life safety codes, and green building standards (LEED / local green ratings).
- Project Delivery & Site Support: Respond to RFIs, review technical submittals, assist with value engineering, and support field testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) procedures.

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of core HVAC design experience, with direct responsibility for multiple high-rise (15+ floors) residential or commercial building projects.
- Technical Mastery:
- High-static pressure ductwork and hydronic piping design (including pressure-reducing valve stations and intermediate heat exchangers).
- Stairwell pressurization fan sizing and smoke control modeling.
- Software Tools:
- Load Analysis: Carrier HAP / Trane TRACE 3D Plus
- BIM & Drafting: Autodesk Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks
- Standards Knowledge: Robust working knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, and local high-rise building codes.

Preferred Certifications

- Chartered / Registered Professional Engineer (PE) status.
- Certified High-Performance Building Design Professional (HBDP) or ASHRAE CHD.
- LEED AP (Building Design + Construction).

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹1,300,000.00 per year
