Job Summary
The Electronic Sourcing Engineer is responsible for strategic sourcing, cost optimization, availability management, and lifecycle control of electronic components. The role works closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply, competitive pricing, and technical compliance of electronic parts.
Key Responsibilities
Source electronic components (active, passive, electromechanical) from approved manufacturers and distributors
Manage RFQs, cost negotiations, and commercial discussions with suppliers
Handle component lifecycle management, including EOL, LTB, and obsolescence risk mitigation
Identify, evaluate, and qualify alternate parts / second sources in coordination with Engineering
Support BOM cost reduction, VA/VE initiatives, and localization activities
Monitor market trends, lead times, shortages, and supply risks
Validate supplier quotations against datasheets, MPN, MOQ, SPQ, and lead time (LT)
Coordinate with Quality for supplier audits, approvals, and PPAP/FAI (as applicable)
Maintain and update component data, lead times, and pricing in ERP/SAP systems
Support production shortages, escalations, and customer-driven sourcing requirements
Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements (RoHS, REACH, IEC, etc.)
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics / Electrical / ECE Engineering
3–6 years of experience in electronic component sourcing / procurement
Solid understanding of electronic components, manufacturers, and global supply chains
Ability to read datasheets and identify form-fit-function (FFF) compatibility
Experience in RFQ handling and supplier negotiations
Familiarity with ERP/SAP systems
