Company Description Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital (SCEH), founded in 1926 by Dr. Sorabji P. Shroff, is one of North India’s largest tertiary eye care institutes and a leader in compassionate, high-quality ophthalmic care. Guided by the belief that sight is a human right, SCEH ensures that at least 50% of all surgeries are non-paying or highly subsidised, offering equal dignity and access to care for every individual. SCEH provides comprehensive services across cataract, cornea and eye bank, glaucoma, vitreo-retina, paediatric ophthalmology, ocular oncology, vision rehabilitation, public health, and education and training.
Role Description This is a full-time,
in office Biomedical Engineer role based at Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital in New Delhi. The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for installation, calibration, and routine maintenance of medical equipment and devices used across outpatient departments, operating theatres, and diagnostic units. Daily tasks include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, coordinating repairs with vendors, and ensuring minimum downtime for critical devices. The role involves supporting clinical teams by advising on appropriate equipment use, maintaining documentation and service records, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Biomedical Engineer will also participate in equipment planning and procurement, contribute to technology upgrades in line with SCEH 2.0 initiatives, and provide training to staff on safe and efficient operation of biomedical equipment.
