We are looking for an experienced Functional Tester with strong expertise in Payments or Cards Domain Testing to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in manual and/or automation testing, API testing, SQL, XML/XSD, and Agile methodologies. This role involves validating payment applications, executing functional and regression testing, and collaborating closely with Business Analysts and Development teams.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze functional specifications and prepare comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
Execute functional, integration, regression, and API testing.
Validate payment workflows and ensure complete requirement coverage.
Perform API testing using Postman and SOAP UI.
Execute database validation using SQL (Oracle/MS SQL).
Work closely with Development and Business teams to resolve functional and technical issues.
Defect tracking and lifecycle management using JIRA, ALM/QC, or Octane.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and support continuous quality improvement.
Mandatory Skills
5+ years of experience in Payments or Cards Domain Testing.
Strong experience in Manual Testing (Automation exposure is an added advantage).
Hands-on experience in API Testing using Postman and SOAP UI.
Strong knowledge of SQL and database validation (Oracle/MS SQL).
Good understanding of XML/XSD.
Experience with Micro Focus ALM/QC or Octane.
Experience using JIRA and Confluence.
Experience working in an Agile setting.
Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with automation testing tools.
Knowledge of Payment Processing and Cash Management systems.
Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.
Qualification
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
