Solid Edge Design Engineer / CAD Engineer - 8-12 years
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Solid Edge Engineer with experience in 3D CAD modeling, product design, and engineering documentation. The ideal candidate will create detailed mechanical designs, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Siemens Solid Edge while collaborating with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop 3D parts, assemblies, and sheet metal components using Solid Edge.
- Create and maintain detailed 2D manufacturing drawings in accordance with industry standards.
- Develop parametric models and reusable design templates.
- Perform design modifications and engineering change requests (ECR/ECO).
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to optimize product designs.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
- Manage CAD data using Product Data Management (PDM)/PLM systems.
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
- Support prototype development,
testing, and product validation.
- Resolve design issues during manufacturing and product lifecycle.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience using Siemens Solid Edge.
- Solid knowledge of:
- Part Modeling
- Assembly Modeling
- Sheet Metal Design
- Weldments
- Drafting and Detailing
- Synchronous Technology
- Parametric Modeling
- GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Engineering drawing standards (ASME Y14.5/ISO).
- BOM creation and documentation.
- Mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with PDM/PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter).
- Basic understanding of FEA or simulation tools (preferred).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Teamcenter integration.
- Knowledge of NX, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
- Experience in product lifecycle management (PLM).
- Exposure to CNC machining, fabrication, injection molding, or sheet metal manufacturing.
- ERP integration experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
