About the Role

Digital Matrix Solutions is looking for a Software Engineer to join a backend platform team building and operating the services that power our Transportation Management System. You'll design, build, and operate distributed backend services on .NET and Azure, working across the full lifecycle from design through production ownership.

This is a mid-level, hands-on engineering role. You'll own features and components end to end, write high-quality tested code, and collaborate closely with your team on architecture and design decisions.

What You'll Do

- Design and build backend services and APIs using .NET 10 / C# and ASP.NET Core
- Own features and components from design through implementation, testing, and production support
- Write code that is well-tested, well-documented, and easy for teammates to read, debug, and extend
- Participate in code reviews, uphold team coding standards, and give and receive direct, constructive feedback
- Respond with urgency to operational issues and incidents within your area of ownership, and help reduce recurring toil
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, QA, and other engineering teams to scope and deliver work




- Contribute to technical design discussions and help identify the right solutions for ambiguous, open-ended problems
- Mentor and support less-experienced engineers as you grow into more senior scope

What We're Looking For

- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally on backend or distributed systems
- Solid grasp of C# and object-oriented / API design fundamentals
- Experience operating services in a cloud environment (Azure preferred)
- Comfort working across the stack described above, or a robust track record of ramping up quickly on adjacent tools
- A bias for ownership: you follow through on commitments and take responsibility for the quality of what you ship
- Use AI to eliminate repetitive work - not thinking
