Cake Engineer I

Cake Baker & Decorator

We are looking for a Cake Baker and Decorator who can assist with the complete production of cakes and desserts, from preparing sponges and fillings to assembling, finishing, and decorating celebration cakes.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare cake batters, sponges, brownies, cookies, and other baked products
Prepare ganache, buttercream, whipped cream, cream-cheese fillings, compotes, sauces, and frostings
Layer, fill, crumb-coat, frost, and finish cakes
Decorate celebration cakes according to approved designs
Work with piping, chocolate decorations, fruits, toppers, and other finishing elements
Follow recipes, portion sizes, and product specifications
Maintain consistency in taste, texture, appearance, and weight
Support the production of desserts, pastries, jars, and bulk orders
Handle customised customer requirements carefully
Ensure orders are completed according to the production schedule




Store finished cakes and ingredients correctly
Maintain workstation cleanliness and hygiene
Minimise wastage and report ingredient requirements
Assist with packaging and dispatch when required

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in cake production or cake decoration is preferred
Basic knowledge of baking, fillings, frostings, and cake assembly
Good attention to detail and finishing
Ability to understand and reproduce cake designs
Comfortable working with both egg and eggless products
Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately
Punctual, organised, and willing to learn
Able to work efficiently during busy production periods
