About The Role

Armatrix develops snake-like robotic arms for inspection and intervention in confined and hard-to-reach industrial environments. Our robots integrate multiple motors, motor drives, encoders, sensors, communication buses, power converters, and distributed electronic control systems within mechanically constrained robotic links. Building reliable electronics in this environment requires solving difficult problems involving electromagnetic interference, grounding, coupling, voltage fluctuations, signal degradation, thermal constraints, and system-level electrical reliability. We are looking for a Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer to own these challenges.

At Armatrix, you will work across the full robotics stack, from mechanical design and actuation systems to control - contributing to R&D;, prototyping, and deployment of high performance robotic systems that push the boundaries of flexibility, accuracy, and safety. As a Founding Engineer, you’ll shape our core stack, make fundamental design choices,



and own systems that will set current benchmarks for what’s possible in robotics.

Responsibilities and Duties

You will own the electrical robustness of Armatrix’s robotic systems. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that motors, motor drives, encoders, sensors, embedded controllers, communication networks, and power systems operate reliably together despite electrical noise, switching transients, long cable runs, compact packaging, and changing load conditions. This is not primarily a firmware-development role. A separate embedded software engineer will own low-level firmware and device drivers. You will work closely with that engineer to define hardware interfaces, debugging provisions, electrical limits, and system-level mitigation strategies. You will be expected to identify the root cause of difficult electrical failures and redesign the hardware or system architecture so that the problem does not recur.
