We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect to lead the technical design of a real-time, transaction-heavy marketplace platform. The system involves live bidding and competitive pricing, multi-region financial and tax logic, fraud prevention, and strict data privacy separation across user roles.

This is a role of significant scope: the successful candidate will own both the platform's architecture and its security design, as these two disciplines are inseparable at this level of complexity. Candidates should bring deep cloud architecture expertise alongside practical, hands-on security engineering experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the end-to-end Azure architecture across a phased build roadmap, from foundational infrastructure through to a hardened, production-scale system
- Design a large, interconnected data model with a strong focus on scalability, consistency, and long-term auditability
- Architect systems with real-time or near-real-time requirements, including concurrent request handling, live data synchronization, and state consistency under load
- Define clear service boundaries between core application logic, AI/ML-driven components, payment processing, and fraud/risk detection, ensuring each can scale and fail independently
- Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions for third-party integrations, including payment processing, tax calculation, and identity verification providers, and design abstraction layers that allow providers to be replaced with minimal rework
- Design for multi-region regulatory compliance - including tax, licensing, and eligibility rules - at the data-model level rather than through hardcoded, single-region logic
- Design identity and data segregation architecture to ensure personally identifiable information remains fully isolated from public-facing data, with no possible leakage paths
- Architect detection systems for policy violations and platform abuse,



feeding into an automated enforcement and escalation framework
- Define the security posture for sensitive financial data, including encryption at rest and in transit, secrets management (e.g., Azure Key Vault), and compliance-relevant boundary design
- Own the platform's audit and logging strategy, ensuring every automated action is independently traceable, given that enforcement decisions may carry legal implications
- Conduct threat modeling for the platform's highest-risk workflows, particularly real-time transactions, payment flows, and AI-driven decisioning
- Define access control policy (Azure AD B2C, RBAC) for both end users and internal stakeholders with visibility into the environment
- Determine where AI/LLM-driven decisions require mandatory human review versus full automation
- Produce phased technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, module-level specifications, and a clear delineation between MVP and hardening-phase scope
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for client stakeholders, translating business requirements into engineering decisions and communicating technical risk clearly
- Provide architectural mentorship and guidance to full-stack developers, AI/ML engineers, and DevOps engineers throughout the engagement
- Participate directly in client scoping discussions, particularly where requirements are ambiguous or unresolved

Required Qualifications Cloud & Architecture

- Demonstrated hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure, including App Service / AKS, Azure Functions,



Service Bus, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, SignalR, Key Vault, Application Insights, and Azure AD B2C
- Proven experience architecting systems with real-time or near-real-time requirements, such as auction platforms, trading systems, or live collaboration tools
- Strong command of event-driven and microservices architecture patterns
- Experience integrating third-party payment processors and tax calculation engines into production systems

Security Engineering

- Practical experience in application security architecture, including threat modeling, secure-by-design principles, and OWASP-level best practices - beyond compliance-only exposure
- Experience designing PII segregation and anonymization architectures
- Familiarity with fraud detection system design, whether rules-based, ML-assisted, or hybrid
- Working knowledge of financial and marketplace compliance fundamentals, including payment facilitation structures, PCI-DSS boundaries, and multi-jurisdiction tax handling

Domain Experience

- Prior experience on marketplace, e-commerce, or fintech-adjacent platforms strongly preferred
- Experience working with AI/LLM-integrated systems and defining human-in-the-loop review boundaries

Professional Skills

- Solid client-facing communication skills, with the ability to translate complex architectural trade-offs into clear, non-technical language
- Rigorous documentation discipline, with the ability to work cleanly against detailed, structured specifications

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience with bidding, auction, or dynamic-pricing platforms
- Experience architecting systems delivered on compressed timelines without compromising security fundamentals
- Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or a recognized security certification (e.g., CISSP, OSCP)
