Senior Software Engineer (Database Developer)

Overview We are seeking a Software Engineer (Oracle Developer) to join our engineering organisation based in Pune. This role operates within a globally distributed delivery model, partnering closely with established onshore teams to deliver and maintain high-availability, mission-critical systems.

The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing evolution and stability of key payment platforms within a scaled Agile (Secure) workplace.

Role The Software Engineer will be responsible for:

- Agile Delivery (SAFe Framework): Working within an established Scrum team aligned to SAFe, contributing to sprint planning, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Distributed Team Collaboration: Collaborating closely with onshore engineering teams to deliver features, resolve defects, and ensure seamless integration across the delivery lifecycle.
- Application Development & Maintenance: Designing, developing, and maintaining solutions across a multi-technology stack.
- Production Support & Reliability: Supporting critical live systems,



ensuring performance, resilience, and adherence to enterprise standards and controls.
- Continuous Improvement: Contributing to engineering best practices, automation, and process enhancements to improve delivery efficiency and quality.

All About You

We are looking for a technically strong and collaborative Software Engineer who thrives in a complex, enterprise-scale workplace.

Key requirements include

- Oracle database development experience
- Demonstrated experience writing complex PL/SQL solutions
- Experience in SQL performance tuning, data modelling, data migration, data quality and ETL processes
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience supporting production systems with high availability and high-volume requirements
- Experience implementing automated deployment pipelines and database release processes
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments, ideally within SAFe
- Solid problem-solving skills and ownership mindset
- Ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams

Desirable experience

- Knowledge of Exadata
- Knowledge of Java and test automation
- Exposure to payment systems or financial services environments
- Experience supporting mission-critical, high-availability platforms
