Lecturer Position in Communication

The Dean’s Office at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, is seeking qualified applicants for a part time, academic staff – teaching (Lecturer) position, starting September 1, 2026. This lecturer will teach multiple sections of a class on practical writing in our MBA Program.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Can

Teach the basics of straightforward, conversational, persuasive writing for emails, cold-call outreaches, business pitches, LinkedIn profiles, stories and speeches, feedback to colleagues, responses to difficult questions, and opinion pieces;
Provide helpful feedback on 500-700 short assignments – like cold-call emails, memos, talks and op-eds – during the 9 or 10 sessions of the course.

We Expect The Successful Candidate To

Bring significant experience in business communication;
Be constructive and upbeat in both teaching style and feedback;
Engage the students with warmth, humor and personal attention (most of all, through regular feedback);




Embrace artificial intelligence and show how best to use it;
Bring in guest experts in business writing to enrich the instruction.

Prior teaching experience is beneficial but not required. This lecturer will ideally teach for at least a few years (not just one).
