About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Remote Sensing Expert to lead the development of next-generation geospatial and satellite-based solutions for agriculture, crop insurance, natural resource management, and climate-smart decision support.

The ideal candidate should possess strong scientific knowledge, hands-on expertise in remote sensing and GIS technologies, and proven leadership in delivering large-scale geospatial projects. The role requires integrating satellite imagery, weather analytics, crop models, AI/ML, and drone technologies to create innovative agricultural intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end remote sensing projects related to agriculture, crop monitoring, and natural resource management.
- Develop automated workflows for crop monitoring, crop acreage estimation, crop health assessment, crop stress detection, sowing trend analysis, and crop loss assessment.
- Analyze multi-temporal and multi-spectral satellite imagery using optical, SAR, microwave, thermal, and other earth observation datasets.
- Integrate satellite imagery, drone data, weather data, GIS, crop simulation models, and machine learning algorithms to generate actionable insights.
- Design and implement scalable geospatial analytics platforms for agriculture, crop insurance, agri-finance, and government applications.
- Develop methodologies for plot-level analytics, farmer profiling, crop risk assessment,



and yield estimation.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams comprising Remote Sensing Scientists, GIS Analysts, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers.
- Ensure quality assurance, documentation, and adherence to geospatial and ISO standards.
- Prepare technical proposals, solution architectures, project plans, and client presentations.
- Engage with government agencies, agribusinesses, financial institutions, insurance companies, and international organizations to understand business needs and deliver innovative geospatial solutions.
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to research, innovation, and product development.

Required Qualifications

- Ph.D./M.Tech./M.Sc. in Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, GIS, Earth Sciences, Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Geography, or related disciplines.
- 12+ years of relevant experience in remote sensing and GIS applications.
- Strong understanding of agricultural remote sensing and geospatial analytics.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale geospatial projects.

Technical Skills Candidates should possess strong expertise in:

- Optical satellite imagery analysis
- SAR and Microwave Remote Sensing
- Thermal Remote Sensing
- Drone/UAV data processing
- GIS and Spatial Analysis
- Crop monitoring and crop health assessment




- Crop acreage estimation and crop loss assessment
- Weather data analytics

- Geospatial data standards and quality management
- Spatial databases and enterprise GIS
- Python/R for geospatial analytics (preferred)
- Google Earth Engine, QGIS, ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, ENVI or equivalent geospatial platforms
