Role Description The Senior Network Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Kochi.

Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining high-availability network infrastructure across KVBL’s FTTH and broadband networks. The role involves performing advanced troubleshooting, monitoring network performance, and optimizing configurations to ensure stability, security, and scalability.

The Senior Network

Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, lead network upgrades and migrations, and document architectures, policies, and procedures. The position also requires mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with field operations, and supporting incident response to minimize service disruptions for customers.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in ISP, Telecom, or Carrier-grade network environments.




- Hands-on experience with Juniper Broadband Network Gateways (MX960, MX304) , including subscriber management, PPPoE/IPoE, BNG services, CGNAT integration, DHCP, and AAA.
- Strong experience with Huawei BNG platforms (NE40 Series) and subscriber service provisioning.
- Extensive knowledge of MPLS technologies , including L3VPN, L2VPN, Traffic Engineering, QoS, and Carrier Ethernet services.
- Solid expertise in BGP , including Internet routing, peering, route policies, communities, prefix filtering, and traffic engineering.
- Experience in Internet Peering Engineering , including IX connectivity, upstream transit management, CDN connectivity, route optimization, and Internet traffic engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Arista data center and core routers/switches , including EVPN/VXLAN (preferred), MLAG, and Layer 2/Layer 3 network design.
- Experience with Cisco ASR platforms in ISP core or edge environments.
- Strong knowledge of IS-IS , OSPF , and advanced IP routing protocols used in large-scale service provider networks.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting carrier-grade firewalls , including security policies, NAT, VPNs, ACLs, DDoS mitigation, and network segmentation.
- Strong understanding of IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack deployments, multicast, QoS, redundancy protocols, and high-availability network designs.
- Experience with network monitoring, capacity planning, performance optimization, and incident management.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex Layer 2, Layer 3, MPLS, and broadband subscriber issues in production environments.
- Relevant certifications such as JNCIP-SP, JNCIS-SP, JNCIE-SP, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Service Provider, CCIE, HCIP/HCIE , or equivalent certifications will be an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior engineers and coordinate with cross-functional technical teams.
