Role Summary
Title: Senior Executive PMO (Africa B2B Telecom)
Band: Senior Executive / Band F
Reporting to: Head – PMO, Africa B2B The role supports the Head – PMO in driving governance, tracking, and execution support for Africa B2B initiatives and key enterprise/wholesale deals, ensuring visibility, discipline, and timely delivery across multiple Opcos
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio tracking and governance
- Maintain an updated register of B2B Africa projects and key customer deliveries, consolidating inputs from multiple countries and functions.
- Support PMO governance routines (weekly / monthly reviews, SteerCos) by preparing trackers, dashboards, and followup logs
- Track milestones, risks, issues, dependencies and support structured escalation to the Head – PMO.
Execution support and coordination
- Coordinate with country PMOs and functional teams (Sales, Presales, Network, IT, Finance, SCM, Operations) to obtain timely updates and ensure closure of actions.
- Help project leads with creation and maintenance of basic project artefacts: plans, RAID logs, status reports.
- Follow up on slippages and highlight bottlenecks impacting revenue realisation, customer delivery, or experience.
Performance reporting and MIS
- Prepare recurring MIS and management decks (weekly / monthly) for Head – PMO and B2B leadership, summarising progress, risks, and key decisions required.
- Build and update straightforward dashboards in Excel/Power BI using inputs from CRM, order management and delivery systems.
- Support benefit tracking for completed initiatives (revenue, cost, NPS, productivity).
Meeting & stakeholder support for Head – PMO
- Organise PMO and project review meetings: circulate agendas, prereads, and minutes; track and drive closure of actions.
- Act as first point of coordination for requests coming into the PMO from OpCos and group functions, ensuring structured responses.
- Assist in adhoc analysis and preparation of presentation material for CXO and regional leadership meetings.
PMO process and tool discipline
- Ensure teams use standard PMO templates and follow defined processes for status reporting and change/issue management.
- Provide feedback on PMO tools and trackers and suggest improvements for clarity and ease of use.
- Contribute to maintaining a central repository of documents, templates, and lessons learned for Africa B2B projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate in Business, Engineering, Telecom, IT or related field.
- 3–6 years’ total experience, with at least 2–3 years in PMO / project coordination / business management roles (telecom / ICT / B2B preferred).
- Prior exposure to emerging markets or multicountry / regional roles is an advantage.
- Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) or PMO training will be an added plus, not mandatory.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong organisation and followup skills; comfort managing multiple trackers and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; working knowledge of project/PMO tools (MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or similar) preferred.
- Clear written and verbal communication; able to summarise complex updates into crisp, actionoriented points.
- High ownership, reliability, and comfort working with crosscultural, crosscountry stakeholders.
