Position: Senior Editor

Role Overview:

Maxposure Limited is hiring a Senior Editor for Discover India Magazine, a leading travel publication. The role will involve leading the planning, commissioning, and editing of long-form travel features across print and digital platforms.

As Discover India

Magazine expands its digital presence and launches at least two branded event IPs, this role requires a candidate who can work seamlessly across editorial, print, digital, and event content formats — beyond traditional print writing and editing.

Key Responsibilities

Editorial (Core)

- Conceptualize, commission, and edit long-form travel features, cover stories, and special issues.
- Maintain the magazine's editorial voice, tone, and quality standards across all content.
- Coordinate with writers, photographers, and freelance contributors on story development and deadlines.
- Fact-check, proofread, and ensure editorial accuracy and consistency.

Digital (Emphasis Area)

- Adapt and repurpose print features for the magazine's digital extension (website/app), ensuring content is optimized for digital consumption.
- Plan and execute digital-first content formats — web exclusives, listicles, SEO-driven travel guides, newsletters, and social-friendly storytelling.
- Work closely with the digital/social team on content calendars, publishing cadence, and audience engagement metrics.
- Bring working knowledge of SEO best practices, content analytics (page views, engagement, time-on-page), and digital publishing tools/CMS.

Events (Emphasis Area)

- Support content strategy and editorial direction for the magazine's event IPs (minimum 2 planned), including thematic development, speaker/curation input, and pre/post-event content coverage.




- Collaborate with the events team to translate event experiences into features, recaps, and multimedia content.
- Represent the editorial brand voice at events where required (panels, interviews, on-ground content capture).

Team & Stakeholder Management

- Liaise with the Editor-in-Chief/Managing Editor on content planning and the editorial calendar.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with design, digital, and events teams to ensure integrated content delivery.

Requirements

- 12–15 years of experience in feature writing/editing, preferably in travel, lifestyle, or a related magazine format.
- Demonstrated digital content experience — not just a print background. Candidates should show a track record of digital publishing, content adaptation, or web/social storytelling.
- Prior exposure to event-related content or editorial support for events is a robust plus, including event recaps, on-ground coverage, and curation involvement.
- Excellent command of written English, with strong storytelling and editing skills.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms and a basic understanding of SEO/analytics tools.
- Ability to multitask across print, digital, and event timelines simultaneously.

Notes for Hiring Panel

- Given the magazine's expansion into digital and events, candidates with a pure print-only background may not be the strongest fit unless they demonstrate clear adaptability or a willingness to upskill quickly.
- Prioritize candidates who can speak to specific digital metrics or event outcomes they have contributed to, not just editorial output.
- Consider whether the role should carry a "Digital & Events" tag in the job title/posting to attract the right applicant pool.

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
