Objective The Senior Director of Design Management is responsible for leading a team of Design Managers and overseeing design development on all NTT Global Data Centres India projects, from design kick-off through the production of Construction Documents and performance of Construction Administration. This effort involves coordination between internal staff and external consultants, including Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil Engineers.

Main Tasks

- Lead and manage Design Managers, assigning projects and tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring alignment with project budgets and schedules.

- Lead the design consultant selection process.

- Drive high-quality design solutions while balancing cost, feasibility, and project objectives.

- Collaborate with and manage multidisciplinary teams to create and maintain industry-leading data centre environments.

- Oversee the preparation and execution of Architectural and Engineering Consultant Agreements, including Scope of Work, Scope of Services, and Fees based on Owner’s Project Requirements, design standards, and system specifications.

- Lead value engineering initiatives, design rationalization assessments, and adoption of new technologies that support sustainability goals, accelerate time-to-market, and reduce construction costs while maintaining NTT GDC India design principles.

- Collaborate with Product, Sales, Sales Engineering, and Operations teams to define products, options, timelines, and solutions that meet project objectives.

- Support technical pre-sales activities, client negotiations, technical assessments,



and the development of client-specific design solutions and briefs.

- Support Construction and Procurement leadership in evaluating and implementing procurement models, including Traditional, Design & Build, and Management Contracting approaches.

- Communicate project status to internal and external stakeholders through formal and ad-hoc reporting.

- Prepare monthly project reports covering budget, schedule, and scope performance.

- Ensure compliance with NTT GDC standards and maintain alignment with industry best practices and business objectives, with a strong focus on value engineering.

- Assist in the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts related to design and construction expenditures.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and other vendors to ensure cost-effective service delivery for NTT GDC India data centre projects.

Requirements

Professional Skills

- Minimum 15 years of experience in large-scale, India-wide critical facilities (Data Centre) design and technical engineering.

- Strong understanding of data centre complexity and proven experience in the design and delivery of large-scale data centre facilities across multiple countries.
