SAP ECC Automation Test Consultant – FICO & Interfaces

Role Summary The SAP ECC Automation Test Consultant (FICO & Interfaces) will be responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automation test solutions for SAP ECC Finance & Controlling applications and integrated systems. The consultant will work closely with Business Users, SAP Functional Consultants, Developers, Technical Teams, and Project Stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery across implementation, enhancement, upgrade, and production support projects.

The role requires strong expertise in SAP FICO business processes, Tricentis Tosca automation, API validation, and end-to-end business process testing within an Agile workplace.

Required Skills & Experience

- 6–8 years of experience in Automation Testing with strong exposure to SAP applications.
- Hands-on experience in SAP ECC FICO Testing.
- Strong expertise in Tricentis Tosca Automation.
- Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automation test scripts and reusable frameworks.
- Strong understanding of SAP Finance & Controlling business processes.
- Experience in Functional, System, Integration, Regression, End-to-End, and UAT Testing.
- Hands-on experience in API Testing using Postman.
- Strong SQL knowledge for backend data validation.
- Experience working with JIRA for defect tracking and test management.
- Experience testing SAP Interfaces (IDocs, RFCs, Web Services, Middleware).
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities Automation Test Planning & Design

- Review Business Requirement Documents (BRD),



Functional Specifications (FS), and Technical Design Documents.
- Design, develop, and maintain reusable automation test scripts using Tricentis Tosca.
- Prepare automation test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
- Identify business processes suitable for automation and maximize automation coverage.
- Estimate automation effort and support sprint and release planning.
- Ensure end-to-end traceability between requirements and automated test cases.

SAP FICO Automation Testing Design and execute automation scripts across SAP ECC Finance & Controlling modules, including:

- General Ledger (GL)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Asset Accounting (AA)
- Cost Center Accounting (CCA)
- Internal Orders
- Profit Center Accounting (PCA)
- Financial Closing Processes
- Banking & Payment Processes

Validate business transactions, financial postings, master data, and accounting processes through automation. End-to-End Business Process Testing

Develop and execute automated test scenarios covering critical SAP business processes such as:

- Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
- Order-to-Cash (O2C)
- Record-to-Report (R2R)
- Fixed Asset Management
- Intercompany Transactions
- Financial Close & Period-End Activities

Interface & Integration Testing Develop and execute automated test cases for SAP ECC integrations with internal and third-party applications.

- External Financial Applications

Ensure seamless end-to-end integration and data validation across systems. Regression & Release Testing

- Develop and maintain reusable regression automation suites.
- Execute regression testing for:

- Production Fixes
- Release Deployments
- Continuously optimize regression suites to improve execution efficiency and coverage.

API & Database Validation

- Perform API testing using Postman or similar API testing tools.
- Validate backend data using SQL queries.
- Verify data integrity between SAP ECC and integrated applications.
- Support interface reconciliation and transaction validation.

Defect Management

- Log, track, and manage defects using JIRA.
- Analyse automation failures and perform root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with SAP Functional Consultants and Development teams for issue resolution.
- Perform defect re-testing and regression validation.
- Track defect lifecycle through closure.

- Ensure adherence to project governance, quality standards, and automation best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement in test automation processes and framework utilization.
