Cloud FinOps Analyst

Role Summary

We are looking for a Cloud FinOps Analyst to support cloud financial operations, cost optimization, billing governance, reporting, and customer advisory services. The role requires close collaboration with Customers, Finance, Billing, Sales, and Cloud Operations teams to provide visibility into cloud spend, utilization, profitability, and optimization opportunities.

The ideal candidate should possess a blend of cloud technical knowledge, financial analysis capabilities, dashboarding skills, and stakeholder management experience.

Key Responsibilities

FinOps &

- Cost Management

- - Analyze AWS cloud consumption, utilization, and billing trends.

- Identify cloud cost optimization opportunities and savings recommendations.

- Monitor cloud spend and support budget governance activities.

- Maintain billing and consumption data accuracy.

Customer &

- Finance Collaboration

- - Work closely with customers to review cloud spend, utilization, and optimization opportunities.

- Collaborate with Finance and Billing teams on invoice validation, billing governance, and profitability analysis.

- Support billing dispute analysis and resolution activities.

- Assist with monthly business reviews and customer reporting.

Reporting &

- Dashboarding

- - Build and maintain customer-facing and internal dashboards.

- Develop reports covering:

- Cloud Spend

- Utilization

- Cost Optimization

- Margin Analysis

- Budget vs Actual

- Forecast vs Actual

- Automate reporting wherever possible.

Cloud Technical Analysis

- - Analyze AWS workloads and resource utilization.

- Review EC2, RDS, S3, EKS/ECS, and networking consumption patterns.





- Support cost optimization through rightsizing recommendations and resource utilization analysis.

- Provide technical and financial insights to customers and internal teams.

Forecasting &

- Analytics

- - Build spend forecasting models.

- Perform trend analysis and variance analysis.

- Support financial planning and budgeting activities.

- Generate actionable insights using large datasets.

Automation &

- Process Improvement

- - Utilize Python, SQL, and PowerShell to automate reporting and analytics.

- Improve efficiency through dashboard automation and data-driven processes.

- Support anomaly detection and AI-enabled reporting initiatives.

- - Drive cloud cost transparency and financial accountability.

- Produce monthly dashboards and cost reports.

- Build forecasting and spend analysis models.

- Support customer onboarding and FinOps governance initiatives.

- Monitor usage trends and identify optimization opportunities.

- Support budget monitoring, spend reviews, and anomaly detection.

- Collaborate with Finance teams on billing governance and margin analysis.

- Generate actionable recommendations to improve cloud efficiency and reduce waste.

- Promote FinOps best practices and cloud financial awareness across customers and internal stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate A 2–3 year Cloud FinOps professional who can work directly with customers and Finance teams, has a strong foundation in AWS, cost analysis, reporting, Power BI, Excel, and Python, and is eager to grow into a broader FinOps and Cloud Financial Management role.
