: Senior Accountant

Location: Agra, Uttar Pradesh Department: Finance & Accounts Reports To: Management / Proprietor

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, taxation, and compliance functions, with strong hands-on skills in Excel-based financial reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate will have solid exposure to GST, TDS, income tax, and statutory filings, along with the ability to independently handle books of accounts across multiple business entities.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

- Maintain complete books of accounts (Tally/ERP) including ledgers, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and vendor/customer reconciliations
- Manage day-to-day accounting for purchases, sales, expenses, and cash/bank transactions
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing of accounts

Taxation & Compliance

- Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9/9C) accurately and on time
- Handle TDS computation, deduction, deposit, and quarterly return filing (Form 24Q/26Q), including issuance of Form 16/16A
- Support income tax computation, advance tax working, and coordination for annual income tax return filing
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (PF, ESI, Professional Tax, etc. where applicable)
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and government departments for assessments, notices, and audits
- Stay updated with changes in tax laws and ensure timely implementation

MIS & Excel Reporting

- Prepare MIS reports, cash flow statements, and financial summaries using advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, dashboards)
- Support budgeting,



variance analysis, and cost tracking
- Maintain accurate data for management review and decision-making

Other

- Support finalization of accounts and coordination with statutory/internal auditors
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for audit trail
- Assist management with ad-hoc financial analysis as required

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: B.Com / M.Com; CA-Inter / CMA-Inter preferred but not mandatory
- Experience: 5–8 years in accounting and taxation, preferably in retail/trading or manufacturing setup
- Technical Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Income Tax provisions
- Proficiency in Tally ERP / Tally Prime
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup functions, data analysis, report building)
- Familiarity with e-invoicing, e-way bills, and portal filings (GSTN, TRACES, Income Tax portal)
- Other Attributes:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills for coordinating with auditors/consultants
- Trustworthy and discreet in handling financial data

Preferred (Positive to Have)
- Experience working across multiple business entities/group companies
- Exposure to inventory/stock accounting in a retail environment
- Basic knowledge of ROC compliance for private limited companies
