Role Overview

We are hiring a Technical SEO Manager to lead technical SEO execution across our content ecosystem. This is a senior, hands-on role that blends deep technical mastery with a data-driven mindset. You will audit and optimize sites, build the tooling and automation that makes technical SEO scalable, and act as the trusted technical partner for stakeholders across content, product, design, engineering, and analytics.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of hands-on organic SEO experience and a track record of driving technical SEO across multiple properties. You are equally comfortable diagnosing a crawl-budget problem, briefing a developer on Core Web Vitals, and designing an AI-assisted workflow to scale audits. Because this is a remote-first role working across many teams, you must be able to work independently, manage priorities across stakeholders, and communicate technical recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Technical SEO & Site Health

- Lead technical SEO across our properties: run regular audits and ensure crawlability, indexation, site speed, and Core Web Vitals are healthy across sites.
- Implement and govern structured data (schema), XML sitemaps, redirects, canonicalization, and internal linking strategies at scale.
- Manage crawl budget and site architecture for large,

multi-vertical content ecosystems (thousands of pages, programs, and blogs).
- Partner with engineering and product teams to embed SEO best practices into site architecture, CMS templates, and release processes.

AI, Automation & Scale

- Design and deploy AI-assisted and automated workflows for technical SEO—large-scale audits, log-file analysis, structured-data generation, internal-link mapping, and meta management.
- Use scripting and automation tools (Python, Google Apps Script, n8n / Make, Google Sheets API) to eliminate repetitive work and audit at scale.
- Integrate AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and SEO platforms such as SurferSEO, Clearscope) into technical and content workflows.
- Stay ahead of search and AI trends—AI Overviews/SGE, AEO (answer engine optimization) and citations, semantic and multimodal search—and translate them into technical strategy.

Performance Tracking & Data Insights

- Set up and manage SEO infrastructure and reporting using tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs/SEMrush, DataForSEO, and Looker/Tableau dashboards.
- Monitor and report on indexation, rankings, organic traffic, CTR, and conversion paths.
- Translate data into clear, prioritized recommendations for content, product, engineering, and leadership stakeholders.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Remote Delivery

- Work closely with content and design teams to align technical SEO with content strategy and on-page execution.
- Partner with developers to specify, validate, and ship technical recommendations.
- Manage multiple concurrent requests and stakeholders—scoping work, setting priorities, and communicating trade-offs clearly.
- Document standards, playbooks, and QA checklists so teams can execute consistently and independently in a distributed setup.
- Drive projects to completion asynchronously across time zones, keeping stakeholders aligned through clear written updates.

What We're Looking For

- 5 to 7 years of hands-on SEO experience, with deep technical SEO expertise (preferably in high-volume content environments like EdTech, SaaS, B2C or publishing; brand-side experience a plus).
- Strong technical foundation: HTML, schema/structured data,

crawl-budget management, Core Web Vitals, indexation, and site architecture .
- Proven ability to grow organic performance across multiple KPIs (traffic, leads, engagement) and to drive technical SEO end-to-end.
- Experience managing complex, multi-property or multi-vertical SEO projects—ideally supporting several teams or stakeholders at once.
- Hands-on with core tooling: Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or SEMrush , and analytics dashboards; comfortable with CMS platforms such as WordPress .
- Working knowledge of AI tools for SEO and how to integrate them into real workflows.
- Robust understanding of Google Search ranking factors and algorithm updates.
- Proven cross-functional skills: able to collaborate with and influence content, design, product, engineering, and data teams—including stakeholders who don't report to you.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and documentation skills—able to make technical concepts clear to non-technical audiences and keep distributed teams aligned.
- Strong project-management and prioritization skills: comfortable juggling multiple concurrent requests and stakeholders.
- Self-directed, organized, and accountable: able to work independently, manage priorities, and thrive in a remote-first, asynchronous setup across time zones.
- Familiarity with automation or scripting (Python, n8n / Make, Google Apps Script, Google Sheets API).
- Experience with programmatic SEO or AI-generated content at scale.
- Experience with analytics and tracking setups (GA4, GTM, Looker/Tableau) and an understanding of multi-touch attribution and SEO's role in full-funnel analytics.
- Experience with international or large-scale SEO across multiple markets.
- Prior experience working in a distributed or remote team, or partnering with agencies and external partners.
- Basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript knowledge for technical troubleshooting.
