Role Overview
We're looking for a sharp, structured problem-solver to join the Strategy & Special Projects team embedded in the CXO's office for Paytm's SMB (merchant payments) business — one of the largest and fastest-moving verticals in the company. This team functions as the strategic nerve centre for the business: working directly with leadership to shape priorities, pressure-test the logic behind major bets, drive the highest-leverage initiatives from idea to impact,
and periodically run audits to ensure the business stays sound as it scales.
You'll operate on a rotating portfolio of strategic reviews, audits, and value-creation projects — effectively running a series of mini-consulting engagements at the centre of the business, each feeding directly into decisions made by SMB leadership. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role for someone early in their career who wants exposure to the full breadth of a large fintech business, direct access to senior leadership, and a real hand in shaping how the business grows.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Diagnostics & Business Reviews
Partner closely with SMB leadership to independently evaluate the logic, assumptions, and expected impact of major proposed and in-flight initiatives
Build the cost and P&L; view for key bets, stress-testing whether the economics justify the investment — acting as a trusted, objective sounding board for leadership
