Role Description: Senior Structural Simulation Engineer
We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Simulation Engineer to join our technical team, focusing on the development of auxiliary systems and turbomachinery within the Oil & Gas sector. In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the structural validation of critical components, working on complex systems such as expanders, centrifugal compressors, baseplates, control units, and complete auxiliary systems.
The successful candidate will take full ownership of the entire simulation lifecycle, from initial load definition through to final structural validation.
A key priority for this position is the enhancement of analysis workflows, with a specific focus on driving efficiency through scripting-based automation. This role requires a qualified who can maintain high standards of precision while demonstrating the flexibility needed to adapt to evolving project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform advanced Finite Element Analyses (FEA) on structural and mechanical components
Define realistic boundary conditions, load cases and modelling strategies
Carry out:
Linear and non-linear analyses
Contact modelling (bonded, frictional, etc.)
Large deformation analyses (when required)
Perform dynamic analyses, including:
Modal analysis
Harmonic response analysis
Interpret simulation results with strong engineering judgement, identifying:
Critical areas (hotspots)
Stress concentrations
Potential failure modes
Technical Requirements (Mandatory)
Ability to:
Build reliable FEM models
Perform sanity checks and validation of results
Identify modelling errors and inconsistencies
· Software Proficiency:
Expert knowledge of ANSYS Workbench
o Expert knowledge ANSYS APDL. Proficiency in APDL scripting and automation is mandatory.
Solid understanding of:
Structural mechanics
Nonlinear behavior
Contact mechanics
· Industry Background:
o Power & Energy and Oil & gas
o Turbomachinery Experience: D
