.NET Solution Architect (Hands-On)

Job Summary
Own the end-to-end technical architecture of our enterprise .NET applications while remaining hands-on in development. The role combines architectural ownership with practical engineering, requiring proven experience in distributed systems design, cloud platforms, and applying AI technologies in production software.

Key Responsibilities
Define and own end-to-end architecture: service boundaries, data models, integration patterns, deployment topology.
Stay hands-on — reference implementations, technical spikes, critical-path code, and cross-team code reviews.
Set and enforce non-functional requirements: performance, scalability, availability, security, and operating cost.
Drive AI-assisted development across the team and guide how AI/LLM services are integrated into applications.
Lead cloud adoption and modernisation, including migration of legacy .NET Framework workloads.
Produce architecture decision records, technical documentation, and engineering standards.




Mentor senior engineers and raise the standard of technical design across engineering.

Technical Skills (Mandatory)
Languages/Frameworks: C#, .NET 8/9, Entity Framework Core.
Architecture: Microservices, modular monolith, DDD, event-driven, CQRS, REST, gRPC, resilience patterns (circuit breaker, retry, bulkhead).
Cloud: Azure (App Service, Functions, Container Apps, AKS, Storage, Key Vault, API Management) or equivalent depth in AWS/GCP.
Messaging: Deep knowledge of one platform — Service Bus, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
Databases/Caching: One relational + non-relational store (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB), Redis, query optimisation.
AI/ML: Azure OpenAI, Semantic Kernel, RAG, vector search (Azure AI Search/pgvector), prompt engineering, agentic workflows, tool/function calling, MCP.
DevOps: Docker, CI/CD (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions), IaC concepts (Bicep/Terraform).
Security: OAuth 2.0, OpenID
