About us
Decamyras is the furnishings arm of Govdan Group, a family business that has been serving Hyderabad since 1990. Our textile legacy began in Chennai after Partition, when Govardhan Das Munglani opened a small shop on a straightforward promise: premium fabric at an honest price. Three decades of building that same reputation in Hyderabad have made us a name that architects, hoteliers and homeowners across the city return to.
Today the group works across three brands: GTC for hospitality bed, bath and F&B; linen, Goldfeather for uniforms, and Decamyras for retail and project furnishings.
Our Decamyras Experience Centre is a curated space where clients touch, drape and compare fabrics before they commit. We carry premium and luxury names including King Koil, D'Decor and KC Fabrics, alongside a wide multi-brand range of curtains, upholstery, sheers, wallcoverings, blinds and mattresses. Our clients range from homeowners furnishing a single villa to architects, interior designers and hospitality groups specifying for entire properties.
You would be joining a business with a thirty-five year local track record and a client base that already trusts us, which means you spend your energy on advising and closing rather than on explaining who we are.
About the role
This is not a counter sales job. You will be the person a client sits down with when they are trying to decide how a room should feel.
You will own the client journey inside the Experience Centre from the first walk-in to the final installation: understanding the space and the brief, recommending fabrics and finishes that actually suit the application, preparing measurements and estimates, negotiating and closing, and then coordinating stitching, delivery and installation so the client's experience matches the promise of the showroom.
You will also help us grow the trade side of the business, building relationships with architects, interior designers, contractors and hospitality buyers across Hyderabad.
What you will do
- Host and consult with walk-in clients, understand their space, budget, timeline and aesthetic, and translate that into a curated selection rather than an overwhelming one
- Advise confidently on fabric composition, GSM, weave, drape, light control, durability and maintenance, and on what is appropriate for residential versus hospitality or high-traffic use
- Build looks and combinations across curtains, sheers, upholstery, cushions, blinds and mattresses, including coordinating with existing furniture, flooring and colour schemes on site
- Take or supervise site measurements, prepare accurate quotations and revisions, and follow up until closure
- Own your own sales pipeline: track every enquiry, follow up methodically, and convert
- Coordinate with our stitching unit, vendors and installation team so orders are delivered on time and to specification
- Handle post-installation service, snags and repeat business, and turn satisfied clients into referrals
- Develop and maintain relationships with architects, interior designers, contractors and hospitality procurement teams, including periodic outreach visits
- Keep the Experience Centre display, sample books, swatch libraries and price lists current and presentation ready
- Maintain clean records of enquiries, quotations, orders and collections, and report weekly on pipeline and closures
What we are looking for
- 2 to 5 years of experience in interior furnishings, home decor, modular interiors, furniture, tiles and sanitaryware, lighting, or a comparable premium consultative retail category.
Candidates from interior design practice who enjoy client-facing work are equally welcome
- A genuine eye for interiors: colour, texture, proportion and how a space comes together. A degree or diploma in interior design, textile design or fashion or textile technology is an advantage but not mandatory if the eye and the experience are there
- Comfort with consultative selling to discerning clients, including the confidence to justify a premium price on the basis of quality rather than discount it
- Working knowledge of measurement and estimation for furnishings (fullness, pleat types, panel calculations, upholstery meterage) or the ability to learn this quickly
- Strong spoken English and Telugu or Hindi. Hyderabad clients switch languages mid-conversation and so should you
- Organised follow-up habits, comfort with WhatsApp, Excel or Google Sheets, and basic CRM discipline
- Willingness to travel locally for site visits and trade calls
- Presentable, warm and patient, because our sales cycle is a conversation, not a transaction
What we offer
- A fixed monthly salary plus an uncapped incentive on sales you close, so your earnings scale directly with your performance
- Direct exposure to and training from premium principals including King Koil, D'Decor and KC Fabrics
- A high-trust, low-bureaucracy family business where you speak directly to the promoters and see the impact of your decisions
- Ownership of the Experience Centre client experience rather than a narrow slice of it
- Room to grow into a showroom lead or key accounts role as we expand
