What You Will Do

Work closely with the output editors to set priorities and assign a mix of stories that is timely, relevant and aligned with audience demands across all digital formats
Produce digital stories that resonate with audiences, and guide digital producers to do the same,



shaping how stories are presented and prioritized across platforms
Continuously track emerging trends and what audiences are engaging with, adjusting coverage priorities in real time to meet demand
Deliver breaking and developing stories quickly, accurately and at peak audience interest
Edit and optimize headlines, applying SEO best practices to improve discoverability and engagement
Use analytics and audience insights to inform editorial decisions and timing of coverage
Help train and inform reporters, editors and visual teams across the AP to strengthen storytelling and responsiveness
Coordinate evergreen edits and obituary preparedness that will resonate when news breaks
Maintain high editorial standards across all published content, ensuring accuracy, clarity and fairness under deadline pressure
