Role Description The Safety Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Kollam, responsible for ensuring that project sites, processes, and designs comply with safety regulations, standards, and best practices. The role involves conducting safety risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits for infrastructure and construction activities, and preparing and maintaining safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.

Engineer will develop and implement safety plans, procedures, and training programs for project teams and contractors, and monitor adherence through regular inspections and incident investigations. This position collaborates closely with project managers,
design engineers, and site supervisors to integrate safety considerations into engineering designs, construction methodologies, and project scheduling.

Engineer also supports continuous improvement by analyzing safety performance metrics and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of safety engineering principles, risk assessment methodologies, and hazard identification techniques, particularly in infrastructure, construction, or transportation projects.
Practical experience with occupational health and safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to civil engineering and construction environments.
Ability to develop and implement safety management systems, site safety plans, emergency response procedures, and incident investigation processes.
Proficiency in preparing safety reports, documentation, and compliance records, with attention to detail and clarity in technical communication.
Effective collaboration and communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and client representatives on safety-related matters.
Relevant academic qualification such as a Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced certifications in occupational safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to perform on-site inspections and audits, identify safety gaps, and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions.
Familiarity with safety-related software tools or digital platforms for incident tracking, risk assessments
