Microsoft SQL L3 Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking highly skilled Microsoft SQL server administrators responsible for providing L3 level production support for large SQL server database workplace supporting critical business applications. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, and stability of database systems. The position may also be involved in database migration and transformation initiatives, requiring strong hands-on skills in SQL server administration, HA/DR technologies, and incident/problem management.

Coverage
Weekdays – US after hours coverage with partial overlap with US based resources
Weekend support

Key Responsibilities
Database Migration: Plan, execute, and validate complex database migrations, including version upgrades, on premises to cloud, and consolidation projects.

Capacity Planning: Monitor database growth trends and forecast future capacity requirements for storage, CPU, and memory.

Automation: Develop and maintain scripts (T-SQL, PowerShell, Python) to automate routine administrative tasks, monitoring, and deployments.





Database Management: Install, configure, manage, monitor, and maintain SQL Server instances (specifically 2016 and newer and Azure SQL) across development, testing, and production environments.

Performance Tuning & Optimization: Proactively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks (CPU, Memory, I/O), and implement tuning solutions.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR): Design, implement, and manage robust HA/DR solutions, including Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Replication, and backup/recovery strategies.

Security: Implement and enforce database security policies, manage user access and permissions, conduct regular security audits, and address vulnerabilities.

Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level troubleshooting for database-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions swiftly.
