Job Description

The Computer Technician I provides first-level technical support for students and staff throughout Manassas Park City Schools. Under the direction of the Director of Technology, this position installs, configures, maintains, and repairs computer hardware, software, peripheral devices, and related technology systems. The technician responds to service requests, diagnoses technical issues, assists with network-connected devices, and supports the daily operation of instructional and administrative technology. This position does not supervise other employees.

Requisite Education And Experience

High School diploma or equivalent
Working knowledge of the installation, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows operating systems.




Working knowledge of ChromeOS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Basic knowledge of computer hardware diagnostics, component-level repair, and device maintenance.
Basic understanding of network infrastructure, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications and Google Workspace.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, user-friendly manner.
Strong customer service skills with a commitment to supporting staff and students.
Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, work independently, and meet deadlines in a rapid-paced environment.
Ability to maintain accurate technical documentation, inventory records, and repair logs.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and technology initiatives.
