Role Description The Quantity Surveyor role at MAARS Design is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai.

The Quantity

Surveyor will be responsible for preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), estimating project costs, and supporting budgeting for residential architecture and interior design projects. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring costs against budgets, analyzing variations, preparing cost reports, and advising project teams on financial implications of design decisions. The role involves close collaboration with architects, designers, contractors,



and suppliers to ensure cost efficiency while maintaining design quality and project timelines.

The Quantity

Surveyor will also assist in tender documentation, contract administration, and post-contract cost control through regular updates and clear communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess robust Cost Control and Cost Management skills to manage budgets and ensure financial efficiency across project phases.
- Candidates should possess experience in BOQ preparation and measurement, with accuracy in quantification and documentation for tenders and contracts.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Cost Planning, including preliminary estimates, value engineering, and lifecycle cost considerations.
- Candidates should possess capabilities in Cost Reporting, including periodic financial reports, variance analysis, and final account preparation.
- Relevant academic background such as a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and local market rates, preferably within the residential and interior design sectors.
- Ability to interpret architectural and interior design drawings, with attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and work on-site in Chennai.
- Proficiency with relevant estimation and spreadsheet software tools; familiarity with project management software is an advantage.
