Role Summary The Purchase Head will lead the end-to-end procurement function, ensuring uninterrupted supply of raw materials, APIs, specialty chemicals, packaging materials, CAPEX equipment, and engineering spares. The role requires strong leadership, strategic sourcing expertise, supplier relationship management, cost optimization, compliance management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support organizational growth and operational excellence .

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement procurement strategies for RM, PM, CAPEX & OPEX.
- Align procurement activities with organizational objectives.
- Source and procure APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients), Bulk Drugs, and Specialty Chemicals etc.,
- Ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of materials and services.
- Coordinate procurement planning to avoid production disruptions
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers.
- Conduct supplier qualification and assessment.
- Negotiate commercial terms and pricing.
- Finalize supplier contracts and agreements.
- Build long-term strategic vendor partnerships.




- Manage procurement of Capex & Utility Equipment along with Engineering Spares.
- Monitor procurement budgets & optimize working capital.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives & maintain procurement documentation.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policy and audit readiness.
- Maintain statutory and internal compliance records.
- Lead and manage the procurement teams.
- Set departmental goals and KPIs.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Desired Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate should have:

- 10+ years of procurement experience, preferably in the specialty chemicals, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing industry.
- Strong expertise in procurement of APIs, bulk drugs, specialty chemicals, and engineering items
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Proven experience in procurement strategy and cost reduction.
- Experience managing procurement teams.
- Robust analytical and decision-making capabilities.
