Job Summary:The Purchase Head will oversee the procurement of raw materials for the chemical industry. This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing strategies, ensuring timely procurement of quality raw materials, and maintaining robust relationships with suppliers. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in procurement within the chemical industry, knowledge of global sourcing, and expertise in supply chain optimization.

Key Responsibilities:Strategic Procurement:

o Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials to support business objectives.

o Conduct market analysis to identify trends, emerging suppliers, and price movements in the raw material market.

o Negotiate long-term contracts with key suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and supply security.

Supplier Management

o Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.

o Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.

o Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Cost Management

o Optimize procurement costs through effective negotiations and by exploring alternative sourcing options.

o Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or timelines.

o Ensure adherence to the company''s budgetary and financial guidelines.

Inventory and Supply Chain Management:

o Coordinate with production and logistics teams to ensure smooth raw material supply.

o Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid disruptions in production.

o Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.

Risk Management





o Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical risks and raw material shortages.

o Ensure contingency plans are in place to handle supply disruptions.

Compliance

o Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and environmental standards in raw material procurement.

o Implement sustainable procurement practices to align with the companys environmental goals.

Leadership & Team Management:

o Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals.

o Promote a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and collaboration.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in procurement, with a significant portion spent in the chemical industry.
- Strong knowledge of raw material sourcing for chemical manufacturing.
- Proven experience in managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.
- Expertise in global sourcing, supply chain management, and inventory optimization.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Skills:

- Deep understanding of chemical raw material markets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP and procurement software.
