Job Summary: An HVAC Purchase Engineer is responsible for procuring HVAC equipment, materials, and services required for construction or maintenance projects. The role involves vendor management, cost optimization, technical evaluation of products, negotiation, and ensuring timely delivery while meeting quality and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Review HVAC drawings, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and technical specifications. Prepare and process purchase requisitions, RFQs (Request for Quotations), and purchase orders.
Source HVAC materials such as: Chillers VRF/VRV systems AHUs FCUs Ducting materials Diffusers and grilles Insulation materials Copper pipes and fittings Valves and accessories Compare vendor quotations on technical and commercial parameters. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and warranties. Coordinate with project, design, and site teams to understand procurement requirements.
Develop and maintain relationships with approved vendors and manufacturers. Monitor purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery. Resolve supply issues, delivery delays, and quality concerns.
Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and purchase reports.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and project budgets. Identify cost-saving opportunities through alternate vendors and value engineering.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 1 years of experience in HVAC procurement or MEP purchasing. Solid understanding of HVAC products, systems, and specifications. Knowledge of procurement procedures and supply chain management.
Experience working with HVAC contractors, consultants, or MEP companies.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of HVAC equipment and components. Ability to read HVAC drawings and specifications. ERP system.
